Experience |
We have more than 25 years of
experience writing code for many different operating
systems and processors. We use our experience to avoid
the many traps that are inherent to our line of work but
we do not live in the past, championing the languages of
the "good old days" at the expense of learning new
languages and development platforms. |
We love to learn new languages, new
operating systems, new processors, and especially new
ways to implement our skills. We see computers,
operating systems and processor as tools to advance our
customers' business. We do not see them as sports teams
to root for as fans. We do not spell Microsoft with a
"$". We do not marginalize a Macintosh as a "niche
computer". We do not see the Unix platform as one only
suited to educational institutions and web servers. We
recommend hardware and software based on the customers
needs, not our own biases. |
We often get customers whose business growth is being
constrained by an application that cannot keep up with the needs of the
business. It is almost always a one-off application that was developed
by a programmer who used
the language or development platform of the
moment and left behind code
that, while it worked at the time, cannot be modified to meet the needs
of the future. While we make a good living
replacing these applications
with engineered solutions, we prefer to be
brought in at the beginning
of a project so we can be a part of the
design process, thus saving
the customer money over the long term. |
